How it works
The movement of Chi – Your Life Energy Force
When you feel stressed or unwell, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this affects your Chi (your finite life energy!). Kinesiology works on balancing your life force energy so that you can experience balance and wellbeing on all levels, (emotions, thoughts, physical and spiritual). This is done by accessing and working on points within the acupuncture system and meridians.
How Chi works? Imagine a river meandering through the mountain. Along the way, the natural flow of water is obstructed by a large fallen log. On one side of the log only trickles of water flows through whilst creating a build up on the other side causing significant pressure. The flow of Chi works in much the same way in your body. When your body experiences stress of many kinds (physical, mental, emotional etc), this causes blockages in your system, causing the natural flow of your chi to be disrupted and if prolonged can lead to many known illnesses and diseases. Emotional stress is a prime example of how a blockage can disrupt the flow of chi. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is said that when you experience:
- fear, your chi descends
- anger, your chi rises
- constant worry, your chi is knotted
- sadness, your chi disappears
This unnatural movement of chi flow in your body, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine is the cause of many emotional and physical illnesses. You then experience general disharmony and physical symptoms such as headaches, pain, digestive symptoms etc can manifest. Kinesiology identifies and removes stresses that cause blockages that affect chi, allowing you to regain optimum physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
A variety of techniques and remedies are used (based on your body’s feedback mechanism through muscle testing) which can include: working on acupuncture points, sound, colour, crystal, counselling, essences, homeopathy and chakra balancing.
